Having bad credit makes buying high dollar items tough to buy. I am not ashamed to admit that I have crappy credit. It is so much easier for me to get an item I want and pay on it monthly, than save up each month and buy it once I have the full amount. Thankfully, there are some places that will let you finance regardless of your credit:
Conn's - I went online and filled out the credit check. I received a call about two hours later saying I was approved. My max purchase (anything in the store) was approved for $2500 with 25% down. So I could take home a $1500 LCD HDTV for $375 up front and pay the rest over monthly payments.
Bose - I ordered the Bose Quiet Comfort Noise Canceling headphones and the 321 GS home theater system for $1325. Bose wanted $221.50 upfront and then $110 a month for ten months. No interest fee. You just have to use a credit card. I used a prepaid NetSpend card from Netspend.com
QVC - My brother uses QVC and HSN. Some of their high dollar items break down into four or five payments. My brother got a television, camera, and some other items. His credit is worse than mine. Both HSN and QVC want the first payment and they will ship out product. My brother used the NetSpend prepaid card to make his order.
RoadLoans.com - Want to buy a car? Sure any homeless bum can drive away from a DriveTime car lot in a car purchased at auction for $4500 and sold for a gross price of $21,900. Instead, try RoadLoans. You should be approved. I was approved for $22,000 with a $1500 down payment. The interest rate is a high 18%, but 18% is far better than Drive Time's 29.9 "sodomize without Vaseline" percent. A salesman at my Ford dealership told me 18% is better than what some of the dealer banks offer.
SafeAuto - Just a bonus here... I was getting an auto insurance quote. SafeAuto was big time cheaper than the others. When I asked about the rate differences, the woman on the phone told me SafeAuto does not factor your credit rating into the equation when writing an auto policy.
If you know of any other stores that offer guaranteed financing on name brand products... please comment below and let the rest of us know where to shop.
